In a 24/7/365 sports world that relies heavily on that which came before, I am slightly confused that in the Brett Farve hysteria there has been zero mention of George Blanda.
Is it a Raiders thing? The ghost of George Halas? Just a blind spot? Where is the love for the grand old man?
I admit that I haven't watched every sportschannel every minute, but I did watch the game. I heard the repeated "40 year old quarterback" accolades for Farve without a whisper of HALL OF FAMER, #16, 26 year professional football career scoring 2002 points, or the heroics he managed to summon up when necessity called. 
Can somebody `splain this to me? Please?

George was a tough old bastard and went way past forty as a kicker for the Raiders too.
