We're on the wrong road!
But we're making great time.
You're giving away the store!
We're America! That's how we roll. We LOVE it, so we set it free. Freedom is a great thing. All these regulations just get in the way.
We can trust the bankers, CEOs and Corporations to do the right thing.
But you're rewarding them to disinvest. No new equipment, no new factories, no expansion. They can stop making stuff and just import cheap crap from
low-wage, sweat-shops in backwards lands. You're incentivizing them to cut payroll which translates to jobs. You're making it easy for them to take the money and run.
It's their money isn't it? They don't owe the workers who do the actual work anything more than a paycheck. They can make money with their money. Lots of it.
Isn't the agreement that you work for me and help me make money. I provide you a place to work. And we both get long-term stability?
That's the old, out-dated model. The update is to make as much as you can as fast as you can, then move on. But hey, this is America dammit! There's plenty. At this rate, it will take
over 100 years to complete the transfer.
But, once people realize that it's a free-for-all, won't they just take more and more, faster and faster?
Interesting, but I will be dead, gone and sainted by then. Besides, we've set up ways for the little guy to get into the game. 401ks, annuities, REITs, and more every day will build vast reservoirs of cash money they can only invest, not spend. Doesn't that sound like America! Big Money, high stakes, big rewards. The little guys can just sit back and watch the market make them all rich.
Doesn't the house always win? Won't big pools of cash be too tempting to tap? Can't they just make it all disappear into phony investment scams and say that's the risk side of the game?
Nobody would be silly enough to kill the golden goose. They'll take their cut, sure. But with more flowing in every minute, they'll never be able to take it all.
Isn't that a Ponzi scheme? The Airplane Game?
Absolutely. But what a ride eh?
What about future generations?
Didn't I tell you, that this is America dammit. They can rebuild.
