Update: I'm not sure the full context of the video is being understood. My view might suggest the object ball in this trick shot (guy wearing hardhat) MAY have been positioned to prevent a truck from exiting IF a train were approaching. There's no crossing gate, lights... It stands to reason, the guy with the hardhat was supposed to be monitoring the crossing. FAIL!
